The State University of New York at Binghamton (SUNY Binghamton) or Binghamton University is one of the four university centers in New York State’s system of post-secondary public education (SUNY). Since its establishment in 1946, it has undergone a number of changes in name and location. Today, the research university’s main campus is located in Vestal, New York.

Parking

For Visitors Visitors to campus Monday through Friday (including holidays) may purchase a visitor parking permit or park at the parking garage, visitors paid lot or at a parking meter.
Visitor parking permits for the surface lots are available for $5 per day. Parking from 5 p.m. Friday until midnight Sunday is free.
Parking permits may be purchased at the:
- Information Booth at the main entrance to the University from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Thursday; 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday
- Parking Services, room G-8 of the Couper Administration Building from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday
- Department of Public Safety, room G-35 of the Couper Administration Building, 24 hours daily
Hourly parking is available at the Visitors Paid Lot across from Bartle Library and in the parking garage behind the Couper Administration Building. Rates are $1 an hour with a maximum rate of $5 per day.
Parking meters are located in front of the Administration Building, Lot C by the Anderson Center Box Office, the West Gym, the East Gym, Clearview Hall, the TRIO Office, the Campus Preschool and Early Childhood Center, the Library Tower area, and Lot H near the tennis courts. Meters are enforced from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday except for those meters located at the East Gym, West Gym and the Tennis Courts. Between 5 p.m. and 8 a.m., Monday through Friday, University parking permits are required at meters. Meters located in the gym lots and at the tennis courts have extended hours and should be checked at those locations for hours of enforcement.

Binghamton University Downtown Center
The school has recently opened a center nearby in downtown Binghamton.
Just up the stairs in the left corner is room 220B; the meeting will be held in there.
- ID may be required at the front door.
- Parking is on the street and in the nearby parking garages.
- Just tell the security officer at the front desk that you are there for the "Linux User's Group Meeting" and he'll let you through. He can also direct you to the location of the room if you ask him.
Maps to the Downtown Center
Linux Technology Center
The Binghamton University Linux Technology Center is the culmination of a significant amount of work by BU, IBM, STOC and Mainline Systems. The goal of the LTC is to set up a National Center of expertise in: Linux, open source, and open standards, to support and promote research, development, commercialization and contract work. The Center will work with businesses to help them use Open Computing to save on their IT and product costs. The Center will also work with businesses to move there software products to an Open Source base and to expand their products' marketplace.
